Our History

The Health and Education Federal Credit Union was started in 1956 to serve the employees of Fayette County Schools. Since that time, the credit union has grown to serve many more education and health related employer groups.

Membership Today

Today the credit union serves all county school systems surrounding the Lexington area and several colleges and universities including Georgetown College, Transylvania University, Asbury University, and Asbury Seminary. The health care related groups have expanded to include Central Baptist Hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital, Shriners Hospital, Cardinal Hill Hospital, Lexington Clinic and many more employer groups. The Credit Union has continued to expand membership to serve new groups and family members of existing members.

Our Strength

Over the years The Health and Education Federal Credit Union has remained a strong member owned financial institution. All accounts are insured up to $250,000 by NCUA, a US Government Agency. The credit union offers the best of services without the cost of monthly service charges. The minimum balance on savings accounts is only $25.00 and there are no fees! Our share draft/checking accounts have no minimum balance and no monthly service fees. All loan products are offered at very competitive rates and can be paid with the convenience of payroll deduction and automatic payments.

The Health and Education Federal Credit Union is a member owned financial institution whose purpose is to promote savings, supply loan programs at competitive rates and offer additional services meeting our members' needs. Our goal is to provide the best services possible while maintaining the credit union's long term financial stability.
